Action Craft Boats

Established in 1980, Action Craft boats bring 30 years of experience to boat making for shallow water fishing. The company was established by the Guard family and is still family owned and operated. They are currently based in Cape Coral, Florida. The company introduced several innovations to their boats—the pocket drive, which allows a higher engine/transom and better entry into shallow waters. The in-cockpit bench seat has a fold down back rest, and the qui-dry hull design reduces the slapping noise of water on the hull that scares fish away and in addition helps to keep the passengers drier. There are also other noise reduction features that helps keep the fish from being scared away.

Action Craft produces several models of boats for inshore fishing. There are hybrid models along with several FlatMaster and FlyFisher models. Some of their boats allow for entry into water less than 1 foot deep. The boats range in size from 16 to 20 feet and in price (used) from approximately $8,000 to over $30,000. Primary construction materials are mat and bi-axial fiberglass, and their coastline boats use mat and woven fiberglass. The company sells boats primarily through dealers and its main source of advertisement is word-of-mouth by satisfied customers.
