Apex Boats

In existence since 1986, Apex Inflatables are custom-made inflatable boats. With its factory located in Costa Rica, Apex produces small and large inflatable boats, from 8 to 36 feet. Apex boats come in various models such as: small rib dinghies, lite small R.I.B. dinghies, tender R.I.B. boat, large sport boats, open R.I.B. boat, roll up R.I./R.I.L./W.I. collapsible boats, roll up professional boats, rafts, and bananas. The average price of an Apex boat is around $20,000; however a large number of their models are priced below $10,000. A 5-year factory warranty is included with the purchase of an Apex boat. Apex is certified by the NMMA using standards established by the American Boating and Yacht Council.

Some recently-published trade magazines have questioned the financial solvency of Apex as a result of some of its corporate entities declaring bankruptcy. The official Apex website firmly denies any financial difficulties and insists that their business model remains strong and vibrant. However, Boattest.com purchased and used an Apex inflatable, and found that it was “low-priced, cheaply made, [and] slowly fell apart.” The specific model they tested was not listed, but the customer service given by Apex in response to these problems also fell below Boattest.com’s expectations.
