Also linked to the name Buddy Davis, B and D Boatworks has been a boat manufacturer for almost 30 years. The company was acquired by plastic surgeon Ira Trocki in 2003. A successful businessman, Trocki also owns Predator Yachts, Egg Harbor Yachts, and Revenge Yachts. He chose to give a new face to his newly purchased 20 year old B and D company by using new tooling and molds. Now officially reestablished in 2005, the North Carolina business is small with a staff between 10 and 20.

For 2010, B and D Boatworks boasts two new models. They sell the Wanchese Edition 60' model and also the Wanchese Edition 68' model. Made of lightweight epoxy for the hull and fiberglass interior and exterior surfaces, the two models also have a mezzanine style cockpit. New models have customizable decorations, upholstery, and cabinetry, and the company works with several suppliers to create the boats to the buyer’s specifications. Most new boat prices are found only through individual dealers, but older models’ prices range by size of the boat. A 60 foot used 2006 B and D Boatworks model can be purchased for $1,699,000 while the smaller 28 foot Center Console is sold for $93,900.
