Bayliner Boats

The Bayliner company was established in 1955 designing and manufacturing recreational boats. As part of the Brunswick Boat Group, the company offers deck boats, cruisers, bowriders, cuddies and yachts. Consumers can also build a Bayliner with the designing tool integrated into the official website.

The four featured Bayliner models are bowriders, cuddies, deck boats and cruisers. Bowriders are available in lengths ranging from 16‘ to 22‘. Some Bayliner Bowriders have outboard Mercury motors and others have integrated engines. Power steering and emissions control are available as upgrades for integrated engines.

Bayliner Cuddies are available in only one model, the 192 DIS. The base engine for this model is the MerCruiser, but upgrades are available. The 192 DIS Bayliner Cuddie offers 19.4‘ of length and seating capacity for seven.

Two models of Bayliner Deck Boats are available - 197 and 217. The 197 Deck Boat by Bayliner is built standard with a 3.0 L MerCruiser engine and 10 person capacity. The boat measures 18.7‘ total length. The 217 Deck Boat is a bit larger at 20.7‘. This deck boat holds 12 people and comes with an upgraded engine - the 4.3 L MerCruiser packing 190 HP.

Bayliner is known for its Cruiser line. There are six models in the Bayliner Cruiser series - 245, 255, 266 DIS, 285, 315 and 335. The 245 Cruiser measures 24.1‘ in length and offers a 5.0L MerCruiser engine standard. The 25‘ 255 can seat eight passengers and maintain a good speed with a 260 HP 5.0L MPI MerCruiser engine. The 266 DIS Bayliner Cruiser is a hardtop model with an upper deck.

The same 5.0L MPI from the 255 Cruiser is available on the 266 DIS. The 285 Cruiser is a bit larger with a spacious cabin area for passengers. The larger 28.9‘ cruiser requires a hefty engine so Bayliner uses the 350 MAG MPI MerCruiser with 300 HP. At 30.6‘, the Bayliner 315 Cruiser requires twin engines to sustain power on the water, but staying true to the MerCruiser line, Bayliner manufactures the 315 Cruiser with Twin 4.3L MPI MerCruiser.

The final boat in the Bayliner Cruise line is the monster 335. At 32.6‘ in length, the 335 Bayliner comes standard with Twin 5.0L MPI MerCruiser Bravo engines. Joystick controls make navigation into and out of the dock simple.

Bayliner lists complete specifications for every Bowrider, Deck Boat, Cuddie and Cruiser model. Specifications include people capacity, overall length, beam, deadrise, weight, length rigged, draft hull, draft max, bridge clearance max, fuel capacity, holding tank capacity and water capacity. Information on available options and engines are also available, including packages that can be added to the base Bayliner models.

Today, it produces bowriders, deck boats, cuddies, cruisers, runabouts, bass and utility boats, and yachts. Bayliner bowriders, deck boats, and cruisers include a beam forward design, permitting unparalleled interior space when compared with other models. The boats feature the Smooth Ride System, Computer Aided Design, and a Pre-Cured Finish Guard. Bowriders with lower model numbers can transport fewer people (e.g., 5, 7) and have less horsepower (60). Higher model numbers can transport ten and max out in hp at 260. The 217 is the featured deck boat model. It has 190hp, holds twelve, and is 20’7” long. The Cuddy 192 DIS is 19’4”, has 135hp, and can hold seven. The 245 is the featured cruiser for 2010. It is 24’1” long, holds eight, and contains a 220hp engine. Cruising, spending the night with the family on the sea, and trailering are its ideal functions.
