Beneteau Boats

Beneteau is an exclusive sailboat and powerboat manufacturer with offices in Marion, South Carolina. Sailboats are available in the Beneteau and First Series. Powerboats are available in the SwiftTrawler and Monte Carlo series. 

Beneteau designs and manufactures far more sailboats than powerboats. The company started in sailboats and thus the connection to producing top of the line sailboats is evident. The Beneteau series of sailboats includes boats ranging from 31‘ to 57‘. There are nine sailboats in the Beneteau line. The Beneteau 31 sailboat is the smallest at 31‘. The design was created by sailors with single control options in mind. Every control is conveniently located for one operator. Below deck is a spacious cabin with a full galley and private shower. The interior of the Beneteau 31 was designed with practicality in mind. At the opposite end of the spectrum is the Oceanis 58 measuring 57‘ in length. The Oceanis 58 by Beneteau is a superyacht in every sense of the word, but the company likes to take a more unique approach to design. On the Oceanis, interior space looks more like the interior of an apartment than a superyacht.

The Beneteau First series is designed for racing, but below deck quarters remain intact. Instead of emptying out the lower deck as racing sailboat manufacturers are forced to do for added speed, the First Series of sailboats offers less in terms of weight and upgrades to increase speed without compromise. There are seven sailboats in the First Series by Beneteau. 

While Beneteau specializes in sailboats, they do produce several powerboats in the SwiftTrawler and MonteCarlo series. SwiftTrawler by Beneteau are available in 34, 42 and 52 designs. The main deck offers a navigation pilot house that is fully enclosed and includes a seating area. One level down is a full galley, dining and seating area. Below that deck is the sleeping quarters complete with private head. The 34 Beneteau is the newest and smallest SwiftTrawler.

Beneteau also manufactures MonteCarlo Express Cruisers in the United States. The Express Cruiser looks like a sportsboat, but offers amenities of a cruiser. The model is available in 42 and 47 foot models. The smallest MonteCarlo, the 42 sleeps a minimum of 4 with accommodations for up to six passengers. Staterooms are located at the bow and stern with midship seating and galley.

The MonteCarlo 47 is available in open and hard top varieties. The 47 comes standard with two staterooms and two heads. Optional layouts open up the seating area for two additional single beds opposite the full galley.

Beneteau designs sailboats and powerboats with traditional upgrades as standards. There are, however, many upgrades that can be added to each model and custom builds are available.

Beneteau boats began in France in 1884 under its founder, Benjamin Beneteau. He intended to build sailing trawlers. In that same year, Beneteau placed its first boats on the seas. Today, Madame Annette Beneteau Roux (granddaughter of Benjamin) runs the company with her brother Andre.1964 marked the first time the company produced fiberglass sailing yachts. In 1986, the company made the trans-Atlantic voyage to Marion, SC and established Beneteau USA, an arm of the Beneteau Corporation. The Marion facility exists today and produced the company’s 1,000th boat in 1990 and its 3,500th boat in 2000. The Marion facility expanded in 2000. In 2009, Beneteau produced its 7,000th boat while winning the Boat of the Year award for best value with its Beneteau 34 model. The company is the #1 seller of American sailboats over 30’ long. It is the only sailboat company to win the CSI award, winning it in 2009. Beneteau produces sailboats and powerboats. Its popular series lines are the First Series and the Beneteau Series.
