Craig Blackwell’'92s experience with boats goes back to his teens when at age 16 he began building boats in Bay City, Michigan. After a five year apprenticeship with Gougeon Brothers, Craig Blackwell moved on to Monteray Marine, learning more of what would prove to be his livelihood. After working for Davis Boatworks in North Carolina, he established his own company, Craig Blackwell Boatworks, in 1988. His custom boats range from the very simple to elaborate yachts . Construction is light but structure is sound, resulting in responsive, beautiful boats. The 50’'92 Craig Blackwell Custom Carolina has an 800 HP MAN engine with a maximum speed of 37 knots. The master stateroom has a queen berth with a flat screen TV and the salon boasts an L-shaped custom settee along with teak veneers on the cabinetry and a flat screen TV here, as well. The luxury galley features Corian countertops, a stove top, microwave, stainless steel refrigerator and freezer , as well as a drop-in freezer. There is ample storage throughout this boat with special attention given to storage of fishing rods and also an insulated stainless live bait well and stainless fish box.
