Everglades shallow water fishing boats was founded by Bob Dougherty and Stephen Dougherty after working for years building parts for EdgeWater Powerboats and the Boston Whaler company. The duo also manufactured hardtops for various boat companies including Pro-Line and Stamas Yachts. The Dougherty brothers used RAMCAP technology when building hardtops, a process they created and patented. Using this same technology, they developed the EdgeWater14 -the first boat they built - which later won the 1999 NMMA Innovation Award. Everglades uses the RAMCAP technology created for hardtops to build every shallow water fishing boat. This gives Everglades the title of the unsinkable boat. In 2002 and 2005, Everglades won the NMMA Innovation Awards instead of EdgeWater. There are no special series names or designs in the Everglades lineups, only different models of the same shallow water fishing boat line. The first is the 350EX. Measuring 35‘4“, this midsized shallow water fishing boat is an express boat with a full sized fighting chair and below deck bunk with more than 6‘ of headroom. The 350EX comes standard with triple Yamaha outboard motors. The 350LX is a cuddy shallow water fishing boat rather than an express. It comes with room to sleep four and an electric table that can easily be converted into a bed to create room for two additional sleepers. The hardtop cuddy offers rod storage, livewell and bait station standard. The 350CC by Everglades is a center console shallow water fishing boat instead of a flybridge. This is not a sleeper boat, so no cabin space is available for overnight stays on the water. The 320EX is a smaller version of the 350EX or express. Cabin space is available below deck with a full galley, microwave, coffee maker and air conditioning system. The large cockpit and baiting station make the 320EX an anglers boat and one of Everglades most popular designs. The 320 is also available in a center console, or CC model. Everglades 290 Pilot offers a unique command console that can be converted into a pilot house. The shallow water fishing boat holds up to 14 people. The 290 CC, 270 CC and 250 CC are three center console designs that are relatively the same. The 290CC measures 29‘ while the 250CC measures 25‘. Being center console models, no dedicated cabin space is available for overnight fishing trips. The smallest boats in the Everglades line are the 210CC, 223CC, 230CC and 243CC. Again, like other CC or center console models, there is no cabin space. Instead, models are comfortably equipped for fishing shallow and deep water with a fighting chair and rod storage. Livewells, bait stations and padded seating are available along with a walkaround console cabin. |
