Fountain Boats

The founder of Fountain Powerboats was Reggie Fountain. Today the company is known as Fountain Mercury and produces powerboats and speedboats reaching up to 47‘ in length. the company bases all designs on the Super Ventilated Positive Lift hull that claims to decrease fuel usage while increasing speed. Fountain also manufactures fishing boats and tournament fishing boats. All models fall into the Sports Boats, Fish Boats, Express Cruisers and Military Patrol Boats. Fountain speed boats holds a world speed record.

Sports boats by Fountain range from 33‘ to 47‘. The smallest speed boat created by Fountain powerboats is the 33 Lightning. The boat comes standard with a MerCruiser engine that tops out at 82 MPH. With a wraparound windshield and multiple captain’s style chairs, there is room to fit four people or more. the 35 Executioner and 35 Lightning are the same general model. The major difference in the two models is top speed. The 35 Executioner claims top speed of 78 MPH. The 35 Lightning claims more than 100 MPH. With additional length and weight does NOT come reduction in speed. The 47 Lightning is the longest sports boat model by Fountain and can top out more than 115 MPH.           

Fishing boats by Fountain are available from 31‘ to 38‘. Models come in center console, sports fish outboard and center console tournament edition. All Fountain Powerboats fishing boat models are available with twin or triple outboard motors. There are nine models of fishing boat produced by Fountain. Some of the fishing boat models double as cruisers for overnight fishing trips. The 33SFC and 38 SFC sleep four. The 38LX, however, only sleeps two.

The Express Cruiser series by Fountain Mercury carefully combines speed and cruiser amenities. The 38 Express Cruiser can reach 60+ MPH and sleeps four. Headroom in the cabin is 6‘4“. With the optional diesel powered engine, total range for the cruiser at 90% is 572 miles. Fountain also produces the 48 Express, a full 10 feet longer than the 38. While the boat is 10 feet longer, sleeping capacity remains at four persons. A larger fuel tank allows the sport express cruiser a range of 588 miles on diesel fuel.

The Patrol Boat line from Fountain powerboats is designed to cruise for long distances and reach top speed over 70 MPH when needed. An enclosed pilot house is air conditioned and heated for use year round.

Fountain speed boats and powerboats offer many options and extras. Typically, engine upgrades are used to achieve maximum speed. The 47 Lightning, for instance, comes standard with engines reaching 90+ MPH, but can be equipped with twin 1075s to push that limit to 115+ MPH.
