Gheenoe Boats

Gheen boats are about as American as you can get. A design dreamed up by a young draughtsman when he was still learning the trade, then refined when he was Senior Designer at the Kennedy Space Center. Turned into reality when he finished his prototype and launched into production in 1970. That\'s the design of Harley Gheen, and the design is the Gheenoe (part Gheen- part Canoe).Now, over 40 years later the company and the Gheenoe is still going strong. The design has been refined somewhat, the materials have advanced and the options list slightly longer, but the original philosophy is still there. To give fishermen a solid, dependable, stable boat that can go places other boats can\'t. Designed with a low draft to be able to traverse shallow water so a fisherman can follow his prey, wherever it goes, where most other boats can\'t go. There are 4 models in the Gheenoe range, the 14\' and 15.4\', the 15.6\' Classic and the 16\' Super. There are also completely custom options available if they don\'t fit the bill.

A 2009 Gheen 13\' will cost you about $1000, whereas a 16\' Custom Gheenoe will cost around $2,400.
