Glastron Boats

Glastron has driven the art of fiberglass boat manufacturing forward for over 50 years. Genmar is one of the largest recreational boat manufacturers in the world. Glastron boats offer Virtual Engineered Composites (VEC) close mold fiberglass manufacturing, Sterndrive propulsion, and two very unique hull system choices. The VEC close mold construction process is an automated process by which computers monitor over 500 different variables. This patented system replaces the traditional fiberglass lamination process that required materials being laid by hand. This new process results in a completely integrated hull that contains no wood or degradable materials.

The SVV or Super Stable Vee hull was developed and patented by Glastron in 1976. This unique hull design combines the dry and smooth ride of the deep V- hull with the stability and quick plane of the tri-hull designs. This proprietary design makes for an efficient hull. The Aqua-Lift® tri-hull is Glastron’s version of the V-hull that was introduced in 1968. This hull design appeared in popular science that same year. The Aqualift II was the second generation introduced later.

Prices for used Glastron boats can vary, however a nice 2009 model with boat trailer and engine will run on average about $20,000 US.
