In 1956 two brothers, Ernie and Pete Harris, founded Harris Manufacturing. The company designed and built pontoon boats. Harris Manufacturing bought out the second largest producer of deck boats in America, the Kayot Corporation, in 1983. About the time of this merger the company changed its name to Harris FloteBote, Inc. In 1986 the company was returned to the private sector when Jim Poiry bought all remaining stock and removed the company from being publicly traded.

Now Harris FloteBote, Inc. offers a complete line of pontoon boats. From fishing, to cruising, to playing on the water, there is a Harris FloteBote to fit any budget or lifestyle. A limited lifetime warrantee is standard on all Harris FloteBote pontoons.

Harris FloteBote has won several prestigious awards over the years. For the last seven years they have been awarded the National Manufacturers Marine Association Consumer Satisfaction Index Award. Harris FloteBote received the customer service award in 2007 from J.D. Powers and Associates.
