Hutchins Boats

Hutchins Company, Inc. was founded in 1957 by W.L. Hutchins Sr. The family owned and operated company produces the Com-Pac Yacht line of boats. The first Com-Pac Boats didn’t hit the scene until the 1970’s when Hutchins commissioned Clark Mills to design the first boat. The idea behind it was to cram the power and style of a large boat into a small size, and soon the first boat, the Com Pac 16 was born. Today’s models include the: Picnic Cat 14, Legacy 16, the SunCat 17, the SunCat 17 Daysailer, the Sunday Cat 17, the Horizon Cat 20, the Eclipse SL 21, 23, 25, 27, and the 35. The Com-Pac 23 available today is just a larger version of the original Com-Pac 16; so many people choose this boat. Pricing on the boats is not available directly from the manufacturer, so people who are interested in purchasing one of the Com Pac yachts should contact a local dealer to find out more information about a specific model. Many dealers also have used models on site for those who are not in the market to buy brand new. Before purchasing a used boat, however, have a mechanic look it over to ensure it is worth the investment.
