Hydra-Sports started manufacturing boats in 1973. Those first boats were fiberglass bluewater fishing boats. For 25 years, Hydra-Sports continued to produce fiberglass fishing boats, but moved exclusively into the bluewater fishing boat industry in 1998. Working together with professional anglers, avid fishermen and tournament professionals, new designs were based on what people wanted rather than the latest technology. Genmar, the former owner of Hydra-Sports filed for bankruptcy. The company was bought out by Mastercraft Boat Company in 2010. The new Hydra-Sports is produces fishing boats in three series - Vector, Hydra-Sports and Bay Bolt. The Vector series of fishing boats is available in 10 models ranging from the 2200 DC to the 4100 VSF. The hull is reinforced with Kevlar, fuel tanks are expanded and fish boxes are larger for long range fishing trips. The 2200 line is available in center console, dual console and performance (VX) models. The model measures at 22‘4“. The 2500 series of Vector fishing boats are also available in center console and performance, but the dual console design is not available. The 2500 is slightly longer than the 2200 at 29‘8“. The 2900 series measures 29‘8“ and is powered with up to 600 HP. The tournament style boat offers twin fuel tanks extended the range the boat can reach before needed to refuel or come back to dock. Center console and performance models are available in the 2900 Hydra-Sports fishing boat line. The 3300 is available online in center console variety. The boat, measuring in at 33‘5“ holds 352 gallons of fuel and tops out at 900 HP. Triple outboard engines paired with triple fuel cells are standard on the 3300 Hydra-Sports fishing boat. One of the largest fishing boats in the Vector line is the 3500 Express. Storage for 30 rods comes standard along with air conditioning vents. Comfortable features create a cruising atmosphere on this fishing boat by Hydra-Sports. The Express model measures 34‘8“. The largest vector is 41‘7“ and holds 630 gallons of fuel. Standards on the 4100 SportFish include 60 gallon livewell, gunnel rod holders, top mounted rod holders and triple engines. The Hydra-Sports series offers the same Kevlar reinforced hull as Vector models - but in a smaller package. There are four models in the line, the 180CC, 2000WA, 202DC and 2000CC. CC is center console. WA is walkaround. DC is dual console. The 180CC is the smallest at 17‘8“. The 2000CC and 2000 WA are the longest at 20‘11“. The Bay Bolt series of Hydra-Sports bluewater fishing boat is designed for use in shallow waters. There are three models to choose from - the Bay Bolt 19, Bay Bolt 23 and Bay Bolt Tunnel 23. All are created with a Kevlar reinforced hull. The company produces three series of boats, and within each series there are at least three options for customizing the boat. The three series are: the Vector Series, the Hydra Sports Series, and the Bay Bolt Series. The Vector Series, designed as a tournament fishing boat includes the: 4100VSF, 3500VX, 3300CC, 2900VX, 2900CC, 2500VX, 2500CC, 2200VX, 2200CC, 2200DC, and the 212CC. The Hydra Sports Series is the cost conscious shopper’s option and includes the: 2000CC, 202DC, 2000WA, and the 180CC. The Bay Bolt Series, designed for shallow water fishing, includes the following models: 23Tunnel, the 23, and the 19. Since the boats cannot be purchased directly from the manufacturer, pricing information is not available. Those interested in making a purchase need to contact a local dealer for pricing information. Some dealers may sell the boats used which is an option for those who do not want to or do not have the budget to purchase brand new. |
