G-W Invader boats were a prestigious brand of power boats built in Sharpsville, Indiana between 1967 and 1997. During this 30 year period, owners Arne Gray and George Wooldridge, the G-W, in G-W Invader, designed and built fast boats quite successfully. There was quite a range during that time. Boat lengths from 10’, right up to 22’, all made from wooden frames covered by a fiberglass skin and painted a variety of colors. The base model was the 10 foot, sold with bucket seats and a 55 horsepower outboard engine. Larger models were introduced such as the 14 footer, 15 foot V hull, 15 foot tunnel hull, 16 footer, 18’ Bravo, 180 ESS and the Rivera 220 Sport.Arne Gray sold his part of the business to George before retiring to Florida. George carried on making boats until 1997 when all mention of the company stops.

Pricing

Prices for used Invaders vary on the model and year of construction. The simple design and build offers a bargain price for those who want a piece of G-W Invader history. A 160 Capri from 1977 can be acquired for around $500 on the used market, and an Invader 30’ from 1994 still sells for around $25,000.
