Fishing and water sports boats are the specialty of Ranger Boats. Not to be mistaken with Ranger Tugs, Ranger Boats creates bass fishing boats, Fish-N-Play series, multi-species and saltwater boats. The founders of Ranger Boats began the idea process behind the company in 1968. By 1969, there were orders for 600 boats created by two men who wanted a comfortable boat that was affordable. The orders increased in 1970 to 1200 boats. Boats in the beginning were sold for $1,000 a piece. In 1971, the boat factory burned down, but Ranger Boats did not stop. The factory was rebuilt and Ranger was back on the road. Ranger Boats started during a time of innovation. The creator saw things that were not right in the marine world and the company chose to fix those things with new creations and innovations – such as the Ranger trailer that did not damage the boat hull. There have been many models come off the assembly line, but today all fall into the Bass, Fish-N-Play, Multi-Species and Saltwater lines. Prices for Ranger Boats fall within $20,000 to $40,000 for new models and $10,000 to $20,000 for used Ranger boats. Bass boat models by Ranger are the Z Comanche, VX/VS and Intracoastal. Fish-N-Play, created for a careful balance of comfort for fishing and family, are the Reata / RS, Angler and SS. Multi-Species are Fisherman, Angler and Reata / RS. Saltwater boats are unique to all others as they are created for time spent in the ocean versus freshwater. Saltwater models are Bay Ranger, Skiff, Intracoastal and SS. There are several overlaps in the Ranger Boats line. This is because many boats start with the same base model, but upgrades or options are changed based on the series. Fishing boats will come complete with live wells, while family boats may have additional seating with hidden or compact live wells. Models also cross over between saltwater and freshwater. The most popular freshwater models have been fitted and changed to work best in saltwater. Interactive tools and option lists allow boaters to customize and design their own boat from home. This boat can give the dealer a list of wants and needs when the buyer is shopping around for a used Ranger. If a new Ranger or customer Ranger Boat is desired, the dealer can used a customized rendition of the boat to guide the ordering process direct from the factory. Fishing boats are more than just flat bottomed jon boats with oars. Ranger Boats offer speed, durability and the Ranger name. Fishing boat shoppers may want to give Ranger Boats a look, even if they just order the brochure from the Ranger Boats website to see what this company has to offer. |
