Sylvan Marine began in the late 1940’s as a pontoon and houseboat manufacturer near Sylvan Lake in Wolcottville, Indiana. In the early 1970’s, Harold Schrock--son of the founder of Starcraft Marine--purchased the company, and eventually change the focus to quality fishing boats and pontoons. Pontoons also feature industry-leading cross-channel construction, Revolutionary Planing Technology and a twice-baked paint finish. New Sylvan boats sell for around $13,000 to $29,000. Used boats can cost anywhere from $2,000 to $30,000, depending on options, model and condition.
