Express Fisherman

Express fisherman boats are relatively new, as outboard motors have only recently been powerful enough to be able to use on larger vessels. Historically express fisherman type boats were powered by an inboard motor, such as those from manufacturers like Bertram, Cabo, Viking and Ocean. As four-stroke technology improved and the power output of outboard increased it became possible to drive larger boats with outboards. Many manufacturers were quick to adopt this new technology and began creating what it now known as the express fisherman.An express fisherman is built so the fishing is done from the cockpit, eliminating the need for a walkaround. This means there is more space for a cabin, which can make for a very comfortable boat. Average lengths for an express fisherman are somewhere around the 28’ to 38’ which can provide for a lot of living space. That means overnighting or longer trips are a breeze, as there’s plenty of room for everyone in the larger cabins. When they aren’t fishing, there is space for a small galley, TV, shower as well as enjoying the view from the seating by the stern. Express fishermen can be rigged with towers too so they quickly become the ultimate fishing boat.
