PWC stands for personal water craft. These water vehicles were first designed by motocross enthusiast Clayton Jacobson II from Arizona. The riders of the personal water crafts sit or stand on top of the craft as opposed to inside as if riding in a boat. The personal water crafts are used as recreational vehicles. They have inboard engines that drives a pump jet and propeller to create a thrust to propulsion and steering. Stand-up personal water crafts are popular for single riders. The PWC for lifeguards are equipped with a rescue platform. Law enforcement officials also use personal water craft in their daily patrols.
