Runabout refers to a small motorboat that holds between four to eight people. The small boats are designed to move effectively through the water. They are often used for racing and recreational activities such as fishing and water skiing. The runabout is also used as a tender for larger ships. The bow rider, center console, cuddy and walkarounds are common types of runabout boats. The early runabouts had a tiller and rudder control.
