The history of Blue Wave Boats is the history of the Parks family. Roger Parks built his first boat as a fourteen year old in 1967 in a small town in Arkansas. For many years Roger worked alongside his dad in a small shop, designing and building boats. After his father died, Roger went to work for others and eventually decided to start out on his own. With lots of encouragement from family and dealers, Roger set about with his own creativity to design a boat that would address people’s needs better. He gained insight from customer reviews and special requests that helped him work up just the right design to give people what they were asking for.

In December 1992, Roger and his wife, Pam, sold their first Blue Wave Boat – the Blue Wave 189 Classic – to a small dealership in Rosenberg, TX and they have been making boats ever since. There is a natural family environment at the company and a strong emphasis on teamwork. The company has also experienced rapid growth. They were among the 50 most rapidly expanding companies in Oklahoma and have moved into a large and modern facility.

Richard and Steven Parks have been the leaders of Blue Water Boats since the year 2000. These men have poised the company to advance into the future with careful planning and an enthusiastic commitment. They support the goals of the company with strong community involvement. They support Coast Guard Boating Safety Programs and other, more local causes in order to have a positive impact on the world around them.
