Sea Boss Boats began as part of Sea Pro Boats in 2003 and was then acquired in 2004 by the Brunswick Corporation, the leading manufacturer of recreational equipment and supplies and the largest manufacturer of recreation and sporting boats in the world.

Sea Boss prides itself on delivering high quality materials at budget friendly prices. These mid-sized boats range are from 16-27 feet long and come in a variety of models, including center and dual console, walk around, bay, and skiff versions.

After a series of recalls, the company changed its name to Bluewater Marine Group in 2007, and then in May 2008 they were closed down by the Brunswick corporation due to economic concerns.

Pricing

Used Sea Boss models start at around $10,000.

Pros

  • There are many options for easy customization.
  • They have an attractive, comfortable instrument panel.
  • Each boat has a nice-sized engine for good speed.
  • Each boat handles well inshore and on calmer waters

Cons

  • The company is no longer in business.
  • There were several recalls on fittings that cause the boats to sink.
  • They are not really built for open seas/rougher waters.

Featured Models

170 Center Console, 210 Center Console, 180 Center Console, 190 Center Console, 235 Center Console, 255 Center Console, 19 Bay.

Conclusion

Sea Boss Boats are a unique value for those in the market for a used boat. Because of the company's mixed reputation, those looking to pay a low price can possibly find a capable boat at a good price. That being said, buyers must be extra conscientious when examining a craft before purchase.
